The project consisted in systematizing and consolidating the terrain around the runway, in order to ensure its stability and allow a safe running of an aircraft in the event of an accidental derailment. The project also involved the supply of equipment and the complete execution of the beacon system, on the entire operating area of the airport (landing, take-off, maneuvering and parking of the aircraft).

The project included excavations, fillings, consolidations and stabilization works with hydraulic binder, vegetable soli coverings and grass planting. The working areas consisted in 472.059 m² of consolidated land, 237.611 m² of leveled area and 600.280 m² of connection area to the existing land. All these worked led to a volume of earthworks of approx. 950.000 m³.

At the same time, we built a safety element around the runway, with a length of approx. 6km, made of concrete, with the role of eliminating any vertical obstacle that may be in the safety zone.

The beacon system consists of:
– approx. 1.400 LED lamps
– approx. 170 km of 5 KV cable
– approx. 25 km of secondary cable

The project also included the supply and installation of the power supply system, consisting in: substations, support generators and the emergency UPS system.
